Honduras
Roatan is a destination to consider as it is outside of the hurricane season and the Bay Islands have plenty of marine life activity. The reef system has vibrant corals with many sponges, plenty of marine fish and larger pelagic life. The area is famous for the whale sharks that can reliably be seen from March to May each year.

Hawaii
Hawaii is a year-round destination, but March provides liveaboard guests a chance to see the final part of the humpback whale migration. The whales are searching for their mates, and many of the boats see them during their travels through the water. There are always the manta rays and turtles plus stingrays during the dives for guests to enjoy.

Australia
Ningaloo Reef is off the coast of Western Australia, here is one of the best places to visit if you want to guarantee whale shark sightings during this month. The whale sharks are attracted by the coral spawning that occurs from March to June in this UNESCO World Heritage Site with 300-500 whale shark individuals each year. Manta Rays are resident here year-round along with reef sharks and potato cod.

Dominican Republic
The calm waters of the Caribbean Islands continue for a few more months, but March is the ideal time to take a liveaboard to the Silver Banks for the humpback whale migration. Very few boats have a licence to visit this area and guests can join the chase tenders to swim and snorkel with these amazing mammals. There can be between 5 and 7,000 whale visiting this area during the two months.

Cuba
For shark life, Cuba’s Jardine de la Reina is a great option in March. The Elkhorn coral here is still thriving, unlike that of many of the surrounding Caribbean Islands. This is the species that supports the abundant shark life as it is a nursery for the food chain. The wetlands and mangroves are also home to the saltwater crocodiles, and guests on the liveaboards have the opportunity to snorkel with them during the cruise.

Galapagos
During the spring months, the Galapagos Islands are the ideal place for diving with schooling hammerhead sharks, silky sharks and manta rays. The sea conditions are also calmer with fewer waves and milder currents, and there tends to be the best visibility.
